THANK YOU
for your time and consideration

Claudia Luehl

Hello there!
thanks for reaching out.
As I was talking with Brandon before, I am currently applying for OPT.
Since I am an international student from Germany, I have 6 months of OPT after graduation so that I can take a job and receive a salary.
After these 6 months I would either have to find a sponsor and apply for another work visa like HB-1 or I would need to leave the country.
I applied for OPT in August. Normally it would take about 2 months to get approved, but due to Covid the processing times are longer than normally expected and I am not certain how long it is going to take.
While I am waiting for my OPT to get approved I am not allowed to receive a salary, but I am allowed to make an unpaid internship in the meantime. Would that be something that you would be interested at?
This way I could gather some experience and polish my resume and you wouldn't have to pay me for my work. The only ting I would ask for is an internship certificate and a hopefully a recommendation letter, if you are happy with my work.
If you are interested I would be happy about an opportunity to discuss further details and possibilities.
To apply for a H1B visa I need a company that is handing in my H1B Visa application to USCIs.
For that the company has to register at USCIs and needs to fulfill some certain criteria.
After that they have to hand in my application. I was told that it is advised to do that with a lawyer who focuses on work visas as they can drastically increase the chances of getting approved.
I am not a specialist in that topic, but this is as much as I know. This link here explains the needed steps for employers and employees more detailed.
my name is Claudia Luehl, I am a recent graduate from the Gnomon School of Visual Effects and got my Certificate in Digital Production with the focus on modeling and texturing. I am writing you to follow up to a recent interview with one of your recruiters, Jade Takimoto, about an open position as a Character Artist at your studio. I’m interested in the opening,
Since I started playing video games, I’ve always ben amazed by those with epic stories and beautiful artwork. They inspired me to come to America and visit Gnomon to become a better artist. When Jade reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in joining your team in San Diego, I could not believe it. The opportunity to work with your team on such many amazing games is very exciting!
During my time at Gnomon, I learned to use a wide range of programs
like Zbrush, Adobe Substance 3D Painter, Mari, XGen and more to create realistic, high quality character models. My portfolio (www.claudiaeclipse.com) contains a collection of cinematic and real-time characters, as well as a collection of Hard Surface models to demonstrate my knowledge of the various forms of topology and workflows. This variety of projects makes me adaptable to the different tasks in your studio.
Through my studies at Gnomon I am familiar with the workflow of creating 3D characters and assets based on concepts. I can sculpt and model as well as create UVs and realistic textures. I also have experience with my wok being art directed and criticized by instructors, and I've learned how to use that feedback to improve my work. Because of my former job position as a Character artist, I also have some experience in rigging and animation, what makes me a well-rounded member of your team, as I can effectively communicate with other departments.
I really hope that my resume and portfolio seem like a good fit for your
studio. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me
anytime via ClaudiaEclipse@gmx.com.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Hello Jade,
that is very unfortunate, I would have loved to work at your team in San Diego. But thank you very much for letting me know and all your help on the way.
I really hope that it might work in the future, once my visa situation is settled.
I do not know who was the lead artist who asked you to reach out to me, but if you could please let them know that I am very grateful for it. It means a lot to me that they liked my work and considered me for this position, even if it did not work out in the end.
thank you so much for reaching out!
Unfortunately I am an international student from Germany and am currently applying for OPT so I can work and get a salary here in the US.
I have no idea how long it will take to get approved, but I fear it is unlikely it will be done till 12.1st.
But thank you very much for considering me for this position. You guys have some really cool projects and I would have loved to work with you.
I really hope that it might work with you all in the future, once my visa situation is settled.
Sincerely,6
Hey Claudia,
I had a very nice interview with Lars this week and it went really well. He mentioned that there might be more interviews soon with members from other departments. I am looking forward to it! Please let me know when would work best for them.
I also wanted to ask you if you need any documents from me in regards to my visa.
I got a letter this weekend that said that my i-539 Application to Extend my Nonimmigrant Status got approved and that it is valid from 10.08.2021 till 04.07.2022. I haven't gotten any news about my i-765 application for Employment Authorization yet, but assume they go hand in hand and so I can expect some news any day now.
I remember that during our call we talked about a possible start of employment at 01.05.2022. As my OPT might get approved earlier than expected, I wanted to check in if that would be an issue and if you would like me to start earlier than we discussed.
I would be happy to set up a meeting. I was not available last week due to Thanksgiving, but this week I am home amd available for a call.
Hello Rebecca,
following up to our call I sent you all my documents for my OPT. I hope they help for filing an Appeal/Motion.
Till now I got assisted by Carmen Munboz, the student affairs manager of gnomon. Her email address is carmen.munoz@gnomon.edu. She helped me a lot, but for the next step I feel that I need professional assistance.
If there is anything missing, please let me know so I can send them to you ASAP.
